As that bride invited, I headed back to the social hall with my wedding PM on the day after (Sat afternoon). It was raining and windy, which reminded me that I could get married at the exact same weather on Feb 5th. Oh…do not want to think about it.

We arrived a bit late around 4:30pm and the party was just over. However, this second visit made me go through further detailed information with my PM, including audio, layout, etc. My PM even drew a layout draft for me. Please see it below:

When I made my reservation with the social hall mgr, she mentioned that someone would host their wedding buffet at the social hall at last weekend. Yes, what’s a good opportunity to see how other people set up the party there? So I contacted the couple and went to see the layout and set up on last Friday. At 4:30pm, I arrived there at the scheduled time, but nothing has been done yet. It looks like they would not be able to finish till 8:30pm on that night. Having said that, I got a chance to talk with the bride and she’s very helpful. She showed me her idea on how to decorate the hall and even invited me to join her party on the day after.

Today, we met our first catering vendor, who was introduced by a friend of mine. He was helping my friend on their wedding catering in this July. We met him in the church social hall to show him around dessert party place and also talked about party layout.

The social hall is bigger than I thought before. It can host up to 140 people with a full function kitchen. Coffee and tea machines are ready to use, good.

The layout suggested by this vendor was to have 8 cocktail tables set up in the center of this social hall and also put a long table with few chairs for elders. I basically like this idea.

Apart from the party room review, this catering vendor also brought some food samples, including cheese and various dessert. We tried every item at home later on, but feel nothing is impressive and the quoted price is way beyond market price.

So keep looking for catering vendors!

I added a new dessert party photo on the website, but do not know how to fix the layout problem. I am so bad at using html, need help from Min.

I’ve collected all hotel information and part of Intl travel information and posted online to our website. But I do not like the current layout, too many words listed in one page. I would need Min’s help to redesign this website. A better idea is to have multi-layers (such as Travel to SEA, Hotel and Vaction Houses) as the first layer and then list other details under each title.

For travel, I am thinking to contact Delta airline for a group discount. Wish me good luck!
